Jim Dine Watercolors

2nd grade artists looked at this image of one of Jim Dine's paintings:

They used the wet-on-wet watercolor technique and each created 4 mini-paintings.
  1. Paint 4, 5"x5" squares
  2. Paint 4, 3"x3" squares
  3. When dry, cut out hearts from smaller squares.
  4. Mix and match hearts onto different larger squares and glue in center.
  5. Mount on 12"x12" black construction paper.
